Redwood City – The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors is seeking applications for residents interested in serving their community.
Opportunities are available on numerous boards and commissions that provide valuable guidance in their area of focus.
These include openings on the Parks and Recreation Commission (District 1), Planning Commission (District 1), Farmworker Advisory Commission, Bayside and Coastside Design Review Committees, and many others.

Boards and Commission Spotlights:
Design Review Committee – Coastside
The Design Review Committee – Coastside consists of 13 members who live in MidCoast communities that include Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada, Princeton and Miramar.
The Board of Supervisors appoints members to the committee to ensure that new development is compatible with the physical setting of the site and the visual character of the Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada, Miramar and Princeton communities. The chairperson prepares regular reports describing current matters of committee business.

Planning Commission
This five-member, district-represented commission reviews amendments to the County General Plan and Zoning Regulations, considers variances, subdivisions, and permit applications and hears appeals from the Zoning Hearing Officer.

North Fair Oaks Community Council
There are currently three vacancies representing one member, one youth and one youth alternate. Applicants must be residents or owners whose business are in the North Fair Oaks area of District 4.
The North Fair Oaks Community Council addresses the needs of the community and serves as an advisory council to the Board of Supervisors on issues involving public health and safety, public works, planning and other issues.
